Kensignton Gardens and Memorial Fountains

Today was a slow day. We were up at 5:00am and pondered our next meal until 6:30am. We said to ourselves, "we'll sleep a little more and be the first ones there." If it wasn't for our alarm going off at 8:15am, we would have missed it. After stuffing ourselves with poached eggs, bacon, beans, and toast, we felt the "-itis" approaching, so we went back to our room, and fell asleep until 11:00am.

After getting ready, we set off to South Kensington towards Kesington Palace. The palace was closed to the public, so we took a stroll down Kesington Gardens, saw the Albert Memorial and made our way towards the Princess Diana of Wales Memorial Fountain in Hyde Park. I was quite dissapointed with the fountain. Or maybe I didn't understand. I was expecting something a little more elegant, majestic. I don't know. Heck, the statue of the Pelican was the first thing I saw while looking for it.

After we were done, we visited the Royal Albert Hall, but missed the last tour. We walked Exhibition Street. We sent inside the National Historic Museum. They really outdid themselves in the architectural of the building and the design. They even had the dodo bird there. After going through several levels, we left and went next door to the Victoria & Albert Museum and saw the Renaissance and China art and sculpture exhibits. We didn't finish seeing the remaining exhibits because were allowed entrance into the museum, twenty minutes before closing.

We decided to call it a night and went back to our hotel. We stayed up watching Irish TV One and became hooked on the Irish Soap, "Coronation Street" Will Mollly keep her married lover's baby? We will never know.
